Because part of the transparency makes only 60% of the light used for energy harvesting, 7.2% of the batteries have the same energy efficiency. Depending on the application, the balance between the light allowed to pass and the power generated can be adjusted. By introducing a transparent conductive layer on the front and back of the solar cell, production of the transparent HeliaFilmTM is achieved. HeliaFilmTM production is based on small molecules (oligomers). The oligomers can be deposited at a low temperature in a roll-to-roll vacuum process. The selective absorption of the solar spectrum can convert sunlight into electricity for different colors and transmittances.
